| Can a Heart-Shaped Necklace
                        Improve My Feng Shui?

                        Hello Nancilee,

I just bought your "Look Before You Love"
yesterday and I am enjoying reading it.

I have one question that hopefully you
can answer. I have a small heart shaped necklace with a
working compass in it. It is all silver. I wanted to see
if this affects my health, since it has a magnet in it.
Could this piece be a feng shui remedy?  Will it
                        affect my life in anyway?

                        Thank you,AS,
 (email from internet)

****************************************************** Dear AS, With over 400 feng shui books on the market and
rumors abounding about what feng shui can do for you and
how certain charms can produce life-altering changes, it
is difficult, if not impossible, for the public to
decipher what is effective and what is in the realm of
fantasy. Since feng shui is about how the components of the
physical world affect how you act, interact and react,
it stands to reason that any physical object has the
potential to be life altering.  Catalysts for change sometimes come in strange
packages.  I remember the red skirt that catapulted
me out of childhood.  My mother had been trying to
get me to purchase a bra instead of wearing an
undershirt.  Apparently she thought it was
time.  I, however, did not walk quietly away from a
carefree childhood into the, what seemed to me, a
serious, responsible adult world. To me bras were the
symbol that pushed you through the door. I was unyielding until my mother brought home the red
skirt.  Thinking back, there wasn't anything
particularly special about that skirt.  It was an
A-line skirt with pockets in lightweight wool.  But
I believe it reminded me of another red item that
earlier had been my symbol for understanding how we have
choices in life and dreams to follow.  At a very
early age, I saw a movie called "Red Shoes" in
which an awkward young girl discovered red ballet shoes
that danced by themselves.  She coveted them
desperately and when her longing could no longer be
quelled she slipped into them and was transformed.
I too wanted to slip myself into something that could
transform me and hence accepted the payment for
adulthood and added both a bra and the red skirt to my
wardrobe. Examine why you find this silver heart-shaped
necklace to be compelling.  Certainly you have
other jewelry but you picked this particular symbol to
be concerned with.  Perhaps you are altering your
notion of love.  Perhaps you are recognizing a need
for a change in your love life.  I can't begin to
guess.  What is important is that you can use this
symbol as an affirmation of your desires.  Remember
a wish when infused into an object becomes the desire’s
ombudsman. To answer your question about the magnet in the
necklace and its affect on health, please contact: Bau Biologie USA717-461 4371
